Urban Splash
 http://www.urbansplash.co.uk/

Urban Splash describes itself as "the developer behind the UK's most exciting urban regeneration projects". The site, designed with Flash, is impressive - 'space to live' includes detailed information and plans about the company's residential projects in Manchester, Liverpool, Birmingham, Plymouth and elsewhere, with 'space to work' covering the transformation of former industrial buildings into modern workplaces. In addition, the site offers comprehensive background about Urban Splash, including a photo library and information about its history, people and awards. This is a rich, informative site, which makes effective use of Flash technology; nonetheless, an HTML version would as always be a useful addition. Awarded a Sapling Commendation. [GAS, 7 Jul 2006].

AJ Specification
 http://www.ajspecification.com/

AJ Specification describes itself as "a new generation online specification tool", helping specifiers experience proven products in the context of inspiring buildings. The site brings together two well known brands in the world of buildings and product specification - the Architects' Journal, and Specification - with access via paid subscription. Once logged in, users can browse or search the site by building, architect, supplier or product. AJ Specification's detailed coverage is impressive - information about specific buildings is complemented by useful articles and images from the Architects' Journal. Navigation of the site is highly intuitive, with clear and effective hyperlinking between different sources of information. Though the requirement to pay does act as a bar to access, AJ Specification is nevertheless an impressive resource, providing an essential source of reference for the architect, specifier or student. Awarded a Sapling Commendation. [GAS, 7 Jul 2006].

The site is well-designed, comprehensive and up-to-date, with information about EP's key areas of activity, programmes, commercial ventures, best practice, publications, and an excellent illustrated A-Z listing of EP's projects and sites. Institute of Urban Landscape and Quality of Life (IMPUQV), Barcelona
 http://www.bcn.es/paisatgeurba/

The Institute of Urban Landscape and Quality of Life (IMPUQV) in Barcelona describes itself as "a local autonomous organism with a commercial and service character". It was constituted in 1997, but has its origins in 1986, when the City Hall launched the campaign 'Barcelona, posa't guapa' (Let's Embellish Barcelona). Through the provision of grants, the Institute aims to promote, encourage and sponsor the maintenance and improvement of the city's landscape heritage. The site itself has been redesigned and much improved, with comprehensive details of the Institute's work, and other useful features such as a section of related links. The site is now available in English, as well as Catalan and Spanish. Flash is required for some parts of the site. [GAS, 7 Jul 2006].

Online Planning Resources
 http://www.nottingham.ac.uk/sbe/planbiblios/

This site has two main parts - the first featuring up-to-date and comprehensive A-Z listings of planning-related organisations and websites; and the second a set of comprehensive bibliographies, covering topics such as green issues in planning, sustainable urban travel, countryside planning and urban regeneration. The site has no visual frills, but doesn't really need any; it is well maintained by Hugh McClintock at the University of Nottingham's Institute of Urban Planning, and is designed primarily for students taking his modules. However, anyone else studying planning will almost certainly find it a valuable reference source. Due to Hugh McClintock's retirement in June 2006, the site is about to be incorporated into Rudi; hopefully it will reamin free to access in its new home. Awarded a Sapling Commendation. [GAS, 7 Jul 2006].

Regeneration Exchange
 http://www.regenerationexchange.org/

Covering the North East of England, the Regeneration Exchange aims to "increase the capacity of regeneration partnerships, partner groups and agencies to deliver initiatives more effectively through developing networks and structures for sharing information, exchanging skills and promoting good practice". The North East is the first UK region to support a project of this kind, steered by a management group made up of practitioners from regeneration initiatives across the region. Neatly presented and well organised, the site includes an info and research section, an up-to-date events calendar, a well-used discussion board (hosted at renewal.net), an excellent 'jargon buster' and a helpful links page. Overall, this site is an excellent entry point for information - and exchange - about North East regeneration, but with value as a resource to the wider regeneration community. Awarded a Sapling Commendation. [GAS, 7 Jul 2006].
